I’m a Real Boy Now! (Err…Author, I mean…)

Yeah, buddy! You know it! I finally released my second book, which is the next installment of the Love in L.A. series. A little over a year ago, I started on this journey to become a self-published author. Honestly, when I started writing the first book, I didn’t even know if I could really finish it. But a friend of mine had written her first book and self-published it, and I was greatly inspired to do the same. I was added to the same first book signing that she attended in San Francisco (SFINE) in June 2013. In doing so, I committed myself to having at least one published book by that date. Otherwise, I couldn’t be part of the signing. Well, I didn’t want to embarrass myself, so that was great motivation to complete my book as well.

I think I’ve learned a lot from the first round, and I hope that I’ve improved with this second book. People tell me I have, so I can only hope they are being honest and not just being nice. :) But you can be the judge for yourself.

Book One was about being a young female adult and falling in love and making mistakes and discovering yourself. Book Two is about her learning from her mistakes and trying to do better. It’s about her growing and maturing and making life-changing decisions. It’s about her learning to focus more on herself and her career than just on boys. Of course, there are definitely still boys. :)  After being crushed by two different guys she met on Craigslist, Annie meets Casey in the parking lot where she works. Screw online dating! Casey is attractive, witty, gentlemanly, sweet and sensitive…and he’s got the hots for Annie! He’s also an amazing hip hop dancer who has performed all around the US with both his dance crew and as a back-up dancer for various pop, rap and hip hop stars. Well, in book one, we learned that Annie has a passion and a talent for singing…and now she’s ready to take that to the next level and give her dream a shot.

Will Annie give Casey a chance or will she forgive Nate and see where things go with him?

You have to read All the Right Things to find out. :) I hope you enjoy!

Confirmed Release Date for “All the Right Things”

I have finally confirmed a new release date for All the Right Things. I sincerely apologize that the release date has been pushed so many times. No matter what you do, sometimes life just gets in the way, and you can’t always get things finished when you want. :) So the new release date for All the Right Things is now Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2014. I’ve already booked the lovely Angela at Fictional Formats to do the ebook and paperback formatting, and I’m working hard through my holiday break to get as much of this book finished as possible so I can start finetuning and polishing for you! Without further adieu, here is the new cover for All the Right Things. While the original cover was good, it didn’t feel quite right to me. And since I had the original cover for Love in All the Wrong Places redone, I figured it made sense to have the same cover artist redo this one as well. And I have to say, I am totally happy with my decision. Once I found this picture, I fell in love. And I hope you will, too. :)

All the Right Things

I know, I know! I’ve already pushed the publish date for All the Right Things three times. Hopefully this is the last one! I’m tentatively scheduling the release date as November 19th, 2013. This is the sequel to Love in All the Wrong Places. If you haven’t read the first book, get ‘er done! :)

In other news, I’m currently signed up for six author signings in 2014! Check out my Events page for more information on those events. Hope to see some of you awesome readers there! :)

And last but not least, I had the cover for Love in All the Wrong Places redone and released the new one on October 12th, 2013. Check it out! :) Hot, right?? :) I’m also having the cover for All the Right Things redone, so stay tuned for that release!

I Released My First Book!

celebrate

So I released my first book, Love in All the Wrong Places, almost two weeks ago and I’m still pinching myself to make sure it really happened!  But I am so excited to have finally finished and published something, and I am already working on book 2. Even if I never write another word, I can take pride in the fact that I published a book.  Me!  :)  And so far, the feedback has been very positive, for the most part.  Now it’s just a matter of getting the word out there and convincing people to give my book a chance.  If you are interested in reading about what the online dating world is like and how much fun/trouble a young woman living in L.A. can get herself into using the Craigslist personal ads, then you should definitely check out my book!  And leave me a review on Goodreads and wherever you got my book. ;)  Muah!

LA Authors Signing (April 6th, 2013)

So this past Saturday, I got to attend my very first Authors Signing, but as a volunteer and total fangirl! :)  This was such a cool, surreal experience for me.  I got to meet some of the best in the indie book biz!  Colleen Hoover, SC Stephens, Jillian Dodd, Abbi Glines, Cora Carmack and Molly McAdams were all there, as well as several others — some whom I have heard of before, and some new names as well.  I was totally geeking out getting to assist SC Stephens at her table.  Let me just say, she is such a total sweetheart.  I LOVE her!  I, of course, had to pick her brain a bit and ask for advice on what to make sure I took with me to my first Authors Signing (as an author), which is going to be at SFINE in San Francisco on June 15th.  I will make sure I have black and silver sharpies and several pens (she ran out of ink on about 4 pens at the signing), sticky notes, swag, and SNACKS!  I luckily had brought some Teriyaki Beef Jerky with me, which I was more than happy to share with her and she loved it. :)

And if it wasn’t cool enough that I got to meet new friends and get books signed and pictures taken with some of my idols, I actually got asked for my own autograph and pictures to be taken with a few readers!  I was so not expecting that, but it was the BEST FEELING EVER!  And my book hasn’t even released, yet! :)  Mad props to all the fans who came out — there were people waiting in line for 3 to 4 hours, just for a chance to meet their favorite authors.  We are nothing without you, so THANK YOU for your love and support! :)

My New Website!

Hey everyone!  Welcome to my new website!  This page is under construction as I fine tune, tweak and figure out what exactly I want to include on here.  But, I plan to have information on my upcoming books, author signings and other events, pictures from different events, referrals to other people in the literary community, my contact information, info about me, links to where you can purchase my books, etc.   So until then, thanks for dropping by to visit!  I’m very excited to get this thing going. :)   FYI on what 2013 has in store for me so far, my first book is releasing on April 12th (hurray!).  I will be attending the LA Authors signing on Saturday, April 6th, at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City, CA as a reader/fan girl and volunteer, helping the wonderfully talented S.C. Stephens at her table.  And then on Saturday, June 15th, I will be attending SFINE in San Francisco with my real life bestie, Kimberly Knight, but this time as an author!  I can’t wait for both events and look forward to meeting more of my fellow authors, readers, bloggers, etc.  I really wish I could attend the event in Vegas in August, but alas, I will be vacationing in Hawaii, visiting my family and celebrating my fiance’s 30th birthday.  :)  So don’t feel too sorry for me, lol.   Stay tuned for more info!
